适用范围
GB/T 5023《额定电压450／750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆》分为七个部分，本部分为GB/T 5023的第2部分。本部分等同采用IEC 60227-2:2003《额定电压450/750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆 第2部分：试验方法》第2.1版（英文版）。
本部分代替GB 5023.2-1997《额定电压450/750V及以下聚氯乙烯绝缘电缆 第2部分：试验方法》。
本部分与GB 5023.2-1997相比主要变化如下：
——1.9.1中取消了“将一段绝缘线芯试样浸入水银中，直至绝缘变得松驰，能把导体抽出”方法；
——删除了2.3、表1及3.4中“扁形无护套软线”的相关内容；
——3.1曲挠试验作了以下修改：
1）3.1.1总则中修改为“本试验也不适用于线芯标称截面积大于2.5mm2多芯软电缆”；
2）3.1.2对曲挠试验仪器作了描述；
3）3.1.3试样准备的表１中电缆芯数增加2、3、4芯，并规定2、3、4芯标称截面积为0.5mm2
的电缆挂重为0.5kg，滑轮的直径为60mm；
4） 增加了3.1.4线芯载流试验；
5） 增加了3.1.5线芯间电压试验；
6） 增加了3.1.6失效检查。
——增加了3.5静态曲挠试验；
——增加了3.6电梯电缆中心垫芯的抗张强度试验。
