【摘要】:Scratchtestsareperformedonspecimens:(1)toevaluatethescratchormarresistanceofaparticularmaterial,(2)toranktherelativescratchresistanceofdifferentmaterials,or(3)todeterminethescratchingcoefficientoffrictionofmaterials.Sincepolymersexhibitmechanicalpropertiesthatarestronglydependentontemperature,thetestmethodprescribedhereinisdesignedtoyieldreproducibleresultswhenusersperformtestsunderthesimilartestingenvironmentandonspecimensofthesamematerialandsurfacetexturethataresubjectedtothesameconditioningprocedures.Certainpolymersareself-healing(recoverable)whensubjectedtoscratchesandotherphysicaldeformationsbecauseoftheirviscoelasticandrelaxationproperties.Itisimportanttonotethedifferencebetweentheinstantaneous(ifreadilymeasurable)andthepost-scratchdamagesandappropriatelycompareresultstoensurereproducibility.x201C;Whiteningx201D;ofthescratchedsurfaceisakeydamagemechanismthathaspromptedmuchconcerninautomotiveandotherapplicationswheresurfaceaestheticismisimportant.Thistypeofdamageisundesirablebecauseitisevidenttohumaneyes.Thecriticalnormalloadatwhichthisphenomenonappearsservesasabenchmarkinrankingmaterialperformance.Forpolymersthatdonotexhibitwhitening,ascratchgroovefromsevereploughingisstillhighlynoticeable.Insuchcases,thenormalloadrequiredtoachieveacertainscratchwidthshallbereportedtocharacterizescratchvisibilityandscratchresistance.Thecriticalscratchwidthshallbedecidedbyusersinaccordancewiththespecificmaterialandremainsthesamethroughoutasetoftestsforaconsistentcomparison.Thevariationofthescratchwidthasafunctionoftheappliedloadshallalsobeplottedforcomparisonpurposes.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesalaboratoryprocedureusinganinstrumentedscratchmachinetoproduceandquantifysurfacedamageundercontrolledconditions.Thistestmethodisabletocharacterizethemarandscratchresistanceofpolymersbymeasuringmanysignificantmaterialparameters.Thescratch-inducinganddataacquisitionprocessisautomatedtoavoiduser-influencedeffectsthatmayaffecttheresults.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;FLTMBN108-13,ISO1518andISO12137-2arerelatedtothistestmethod;thecontentsaresignificantlydifferentfromthismethod.
