【摘要】:TitrationtechniquesusingKFreagentareoneofthemostwidelyusedforthedeterminationofwater.AlthoughthevolumetricKFtitrationcandeterminelowlevelsofwater,itisgenerallyacceptedthatcoulometricKFtitrations(seeTestMethodE1064)aremoreaccurateforroutinedeterminationofverylowlevelsofwater.Asageneralrule,ifsamplesroutinelycontainwaterconcentrationsof500mg/kgorless,thecoulometrictechniqueshouldbeconsidered.Applicationscanbesubdividedintotwosections:(1)organicandinorganiccompounds,inwhichwatermaybedetermineddirectly,and(2)compounds,inwhichwatercannotbedetermineddirectly,butinwhichinterferencesmaybeeliminatedbysuitablechemicalreactionsormodificationsoftheprocedure.FurtherdiscussionofinterferencesisincludedinSection5andAppendixX2.Watercanbedetermineddirectlyinthepresenceofthefollowingtypesofcompounds:OrganicCompounds
