【摘要】:Theresultsobtainedbythetestmethoddescribedareusefulasguidesindeterminingthetendencyofawater-basedmetalworkingcoolanttoproducefoamunderhighshearconditions.Nocorrelationwithchangesinheattransfer,pumpability,orotherfactorsaffectedbyfoamisintended.Thefoamproducedbyanygivenindustrialprocessdependsonthemethodbywhichthefoamisgeneratedandmaynotbedirectlyproportionaltothatproducedbythiscarefullycontrolledlaboratorytestmethod.Further,thefoamgeneratedatthespecifiedtesttemperaturewillnotnecessarilypredictthefoamingtendencyoftheliquid(thatis,metalworkingcoolant)atsomeotherusetemperature.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheincreaseinvolumeofalow-viscosityaqueousliquid(lessthan3cStat40176;C)duetoitstendencytofoamunderhighshearconditions.Note1-FoamunderlowsheariscoveredbyTestMethodD3601.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyinformation,see7.16.
